Meet and greet with the guide at the airport and transfer to the historical city of Shkodra, one of the oldest and most culturally rich cities in Albania. En route, enjoy lunch at the renowned Mrizi i Zanave Agritourist Farm, famous for its farm-to-table dishes. Upon arrival, visit the impressive Rozafa Fortress, dramatically perched above the city, offering sweeping views over Lake Shkodra. Continue with a walk along Kole Idromeno Street, the lively pedestrian area filled with Mediterranean charm, cafes, mosques, and churches a symbol of Shkodra’s interfaith harmony. An early start for a spectacular boat trip on Koman Lake, often described as one of the most beautiful boat rides in the world. Glide between towering cliffs, emerald waters, and hidden waterfalls an unforgettable natural wonder. Continue to Dečani Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built in 1335 by King Stefan Dečanski. Admire its stunning frescoes and blend of Romanic, Gothic, and Byzantine architecture (ID required for entry). Proceed to Prizren, the cultural heart of Kosovo. After breakfast, drive to the UNESCO-listed town of Berat, known as “The City of a Thousand Windows. ” Explore the Berat Castle and visit the Onufri Iconographic Museum, located inside the Dormition of St. Mary Cathedral. Stroll through the cobbled streets of the medieval quarter and enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant. Continue to Vlora, the city where Albania’s independence was proclaimed in 1912. Today’s drive along the Albanian Riviera is one of Europe’s most spectacular coastal routes. Journey through the Llogara National Park, with stops for breathtaking photos and a taste of local yogurt with honey and walnuts. Continue along the coast with visits to Porto Palermo Bay and other scenic viewpoints before arriving in Saranda. Visit the Butrint National Archaeological Park (UNESCO), a remarkable site featuring Greek, Roman, and Byzantine ruins surrounded by lush wetlands. Overnight in Saranda.
Depart for Gjirokastra, the “Stone City, ” a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its Ottoman-era houses and stone rooftops. Visit Gjirokastra Castle and stroll through the historic bazaar filled with traditional crafts and local delicacies. After lunch, continue to Tirana, the lively capital of Albania. Begin with a city tour of Tirana, exploring Skanderbeg Square, the Et’hem Bey Mosque, and remnants of the communist era.
